The reality we want to change

NC & Charlotte are home to extraordinary artists. The world just hasn't found them yet.

The Latino creative community is alive, brilliant, and full of stories worth telling. Painters, musicians, photographers, dancers, designers, writers, filmmakers. But invisible barriers — language, technology, access — keep them off the cultural map. Creative Code exists to change that.

57% Digital divide

Of Latino workers between 16 and 64 have low or no digital skills — more than double the national average of 31%.

14% No reliable internet

Of households in Mecklenburg County lack reliable internet access — a gap that disproportionately affects Latino artists and creative entrepreneurs.

174K Latinos in Charlotte

Latino residents call Charlotte-Mecklenburg home today — a community that grew 16% between 2021 and 2023. Active, creative, and vibrant, yet underrepresented in public cultural spaces.

The question that drives us

What if the problem
was never the talent?

An immigrant artist arrives with years of craft, a story that moves you, and work that deserves to be experienced. They carry the memory of their homeland, the beauty of their culture, and the resilience of someone who crossed something hard and kept creating. But without a digital presence that belongs to them, without a place in the connected world, that art only exists for those who already know it.

Latino immigrant artist Charlotte NC
When an immigrant artist becomes visible and searchable, an entire city gains access to a cultural richness that always existed but never had a place to be found.
Creative Code builds that bridge with the artist — not for them. A family, a school, a business looking for the mural that gives their walls a soul.
A divided world searching, without knowing it, for something real to feel. Creative Code makes that encounter possible.
Charlotte · Creative Code · 2026

It’s not that Latino immigrant artists aren’t here. It’s that Charlotte doesn’t yet have a way to find them. Every Creative Code cohort changes that — permanently.

The art already exists

The creativity, the history, and the talent are already here in Charlotte. What’s missing is the digital infrastructure to make them visible, accessible, and findable by those who are looking.

Technology as a catalyst

Creative Code doesn’t teach technology for technology’s sake. It uses it as a bridge between who the artist already is and the world that is waiting to discover them.

With the artist, not for the artist

Every participant builds their own digital ecosystem from the inside out. They don’t receive ready-made solutions — they learn to create, sustain, and grow their own presence.

How it works

12 weeks. A digital ecosystem that is yours.

Creative Code is not a theory workshop. It is a real, live construction process where each session produces something concrete that belongs to you.
